Welcome to the Western District Contest

Important Dates & Times

Welcome to the Nebraska National History Day Registration -

If you are looking to register for the Western District Contest on the 1st of March - you have come to the right place!

The new registration system for this year will give you a few ongoing benefits:

A - You are creating an account so until registration closes on February 20th, you will be able to log back in to make changes.

B - Once you have created an account, it will remain in the system; this is especially useful for teachers who will use the system year after year.

Here are a few basics you need to know:

1 - The order of registration is important...  a teacher or guardian must register first, then students.

2 - For each group entry - one student - should be identified as the Project Team Leader.  The Project Team Leader will then share the unique project/entry key for the project with the other group members so they can link their information with the project.

3 - Payment can be made by any party either individually, as a group, or divided as needed.

Welcome to the Nebraska National History Day - Student Registration!

If you are looking to register for the Western District Contest held on the 1st of March - you have come to the right place!

Here are a few basics you need to know:

1 - The order of registration is important...  a teacher or guardian must register first, then students.

2 - For each group entry - one student - should be identified as the initial registerer.  The initial registerer will then share the unique pin for the project entry with the other group members so they can link their information with the project entry.

Ready to register?

Create an account at the link listed on the main page. Instead of using your school email address, use a valid outside email address (gmail, yahoo, etc.). School accounts often do not allow emails from outside sources such as the District or State office of Nebraska National History Day.

Welcome to the Nebraska National History Day Registration -

If you are looking to register for the Western District Contest on the 20th of March - you have come to the right place!  You will register here if you are a teacher (or the student's parent or guardian that is sponsoring their entry).

Attention Teachers! If you are participating for the first time, you will need to contact the state office at nebraskanhd@gmail.com BEFORE you try to register in order to have your school added into the system.  Schools that participated in the 2019 contest year are in the system.  If you are unsure, please check the list below to see which schools are currently in our system.

Chadron Middle School
Chadron Senior High School
Crawford High School
Sioux County High School

Teachers need to have a completed registration prior to any students registering.  Once registered, the account will remain active in the system from year to year unless requested otherwise. If you have forgotten your password, you have two options:  there is a “forgot my password” automated option; or you can email nebraskanhd@gmail.com to have your password manually reset by the state office.

Student projects can be associated with only one teacher in the registration system; however, all co-teachers should create their own individual account and list all co-teachers when prompted during the registration process. It is suggested that students select only one teacher for all entries from the classroom/school. The district coordinator will make the necessary adjustments for awards ceremonies and press releases to all co-teachers.

Information required of teachers: gender, address, phone number, and email address to create an account. Additional information is asked but not required.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact your district coordinators, Moni Hourt (monihourt0@gmail.com) and Kate Pope (kapope@csc.edu), or the state office (nebraskanhd.org).

Suggestions:

Include a second email that is not associated with your school email.  Updates that are sent as a mass email are sometimes rejected by school accounts and you may need to be contacted after school is out if your student(s) qualify for the National Contest.
